California Coastal Protection Network (CCPN) is working
tirelessly to defeat a Liquefied Natural Gas Terminal off
the coast of Malibu and Oxnard. This massive floating LNG
terminal would be three football fields long and 14 stories
high. It would receive and store LNG, a highly flammable
gas, from huge LNG tankers that would arrive at least two
to three times a week from foreign countries overseas.
On September 15, 2006, Pierce hosted a reception
in Malibu to benefit CCPN's fight against the LNG terminal.
