| Q: |
What was your favourite movie
you have been in? |
| A: |
Thomas Crown, just because we got
away with making it. And it seems to be maturing well
on the shelf… |
|
 |
| Q: |
For a man like yourself who
obviously loves his family so much, it must be difficult
to be away from them for long periods! Do you ever manage
to take your family with you while you are filming away
from home? |
| A: |
The last time I took my family on location was for
the filming of “After the Sunset,” filmed
in the Bahamas. We all lived in London for more than
6 months out of the year while making all four Bond
movies.
Without a doubt, being away from my boys & wife
is the hardest part of making any movie.

| Q: |
When left to your own devices
... and on vacation… on your own schedule, are
you a day person or a night person? |
| A: |
Both! I love the days, painting
outdoors I natural sunlight… and I love nights,
throwing great dinner parties. I don’t like clubs
unless it’s an intimate affair. |
|
 |
| Q: |
Hi Pierce, I'm curious... do
you have a nickname? |
| A: |
I’ve had quite a few. In
school I was called “Irish”, because they
couldn’t, or didn’t want to, say my name.
Years later, at drama school, they called me “Hollywood,”
go figure! My first week there I said my ambition was
to work in Hollywood, and “buy a big house”.
A bit bold! One guy in drama school was ‘Paddy’,
one short guy was ‘Killer’, then we had
‘Frosty’… good times. (PS.. I still
don’t have a big house) |
|
 |
| Q: |
Now that TCA2 is in the works,
who are you wooing to be the love interest? You and
Rene were a hot ticket and a hard act to follow!!! |
| A: |
Rene will always have a place in
Crown’s heart, more importantly a place in a mine...
but I think this story line leads him to find another
woman. Don’t know who that is yet. |
|
 |
| Q: |
What is it like to walk down
the red carpet? |
| A: |
If you feel you’ve got a
good movie in your back pocket, it’s wonderful.
If you’ve got a stinker… than it’s
the last place you want to be. I’ve had both experiences. |
|
 |
| Q: |
How long have you been an environmental
activist and what inspired you to become involved? |
| A: |
My greatest inspiration is my wife
Keely, she is my North star, my best friend, and comes
to it with such knowledge and a good heart. |
|
 |
| Q: |
Mr. P. Brosnan, what is your
all-time favorite main-dish meal? and what is your favorite
fresh fruit? |
| A: |
Fresh grilled Dover sole off the
bone, dressed with a squeeze of Meyer lemon juice, mashed
Russet potatoes, glazed carrots, steamed broccoli, and
sliced cold tomatoes. Add a glass of crisp chardonnay,
and finish with warm Crème Brûlée
and a good cup of coffee.
Fruit... large, stringless, ice cream mangos when in
season in Hawaii. |
|
 |
| Q: |
Hi, as a fledgling environmentalist
what can you recommend that I can do to help "do
my bit" for the world? |
| A: |
Educate yourself. Pick a cause
that’s important to you (ie. global warming).
Read the works of good authors and activists, like David
Brower and Dr. Jane Goodall, both of whom I’ve
had the great honor of spending some time with early
on in my environmental work. I also admire David Suzuki
and Robert Kennedy Jr.’s work. One thing will
lead to the next if you have real passion. |
|
 |
| Q: |
How do you start your day?
Which newspaper do you read? |
| A: |
Here’s what I did today;
woke up thirsty for water, OJ and life. Made pancakes
for my boys and got them off to school. Then…
a cup of coffee at my favorite local coffeehouse, followed
by the New York Times and Garden Island newspaper. |
|
 |
| Q: |
Mr. Brosnan, is there any actor
that you would like to work with, but still haven't
got the chance? |
| A: |
Many! Anthony Hopkins. I would
have loved to work with Brando, even to be in the same
room with him. Jimmy Stewart or Cary Grant. Spencer
Tracy above all. Ryan Gosling (like his work), Leonardo
DiCaprio, George Clooney, Brad Pitt… I like what
they do. |
|
 |
| Q: |
Do you have a favorite football
(American or European) team/league? If so, which team(s)
do you support? |
| A: |
Chelsea in England. Spurs. Fullum,
Craven Cottage, teams I’ve long supported, growing
up in south London. |
|
 |
| Q: |
Did you design your own website
and do you personally answer all the questions that
are displayed? |
| A: |
Rolf & Judie, my dear friends
created the site based on my input & art. Their
great company is called Green-i. And yes, I answer all
these questions (when I have time) myself. |
|
 |
| Q: |
If you had a super power, what
would yours be? |
| A: |
To be invisible. Can I pick more
than one? To be able to fly. |
|
 |
| Q: |
Dear Pierce, do you own an
iPod? |
| A: |
About five of them. I share them
with my boys. |
|
 |
| Q: |
You've had an amazing career
so far and I'm a huge fan, do you still have unfulfilled
ambition in film? |
| A: |
Absolutely! More dramas, more comedies.
Watching my own artistic development over the years
has been rewarding. |
